You may be a pro at cleaning your face or an expert on moisturizing, but if you don’t know how to properly exfoliate then none of that matters.
Exfoliating is great, and also super important. It gets rid of dead skin on the surface and leaves you with fresh looking skin. Exfoliating well prepares your face for anything you plan to put on it. Whether it’s a treatment, moisturizer, makeup, or anything. Without all that dead skin on your face, whatever you do next will work even better and easier. And exfoliation is definitely not just for your face, your whole body needs it.
Since we all want to have amazing and radiant looking skin, here is how to exfoliate your skin like you’re a professional.
Using something to exfoliate your skin with, such as gloves or a loofah, is obviously up to you. You may prefer using your hands, but don’t knock it ‘til you try it. Using something to help exfoliate may do you more justice than your hands can. Be sure that you never exfoliate an area where you have any open wounds or sun burn. Before you start to exfoliate, go over your body with your loofah or gloves (if you’re using them) to help get rid of the loose skin cells already ready to go. After you’ve done this, get your body, or where you want to exfoliate, wet. Apply the exfoliating cleanser and begin rubbing it in in circular motions. Make sure you never use the same cleanser on your face that you used on your body. The ones made for your face are much gentler than the ones for your body. Rinse off and then apply moisturizer. After exfoliating is the best time to moisturize your skin because it soaks in and begins working better.
Exfoliation is definitely very important and all of us need to be doing it. And even though some of us may be, we might not be doing it as well as we should. However with practicing and following those tips, you’ll for sure be better off and get a better result.
