A GUIDE TO MEDICAL GRADE SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

If you’ve started seeing products you’ve never heard of, but seem high quality, you’ve probably been in a dermatologist’s office or a spa. The brands you see in places like these are medical grade skin care brands that get sold for numerous reasons, including the strength of the product.

Normally brands and products you can purchase at a drugstore contain lower amounts of ingredients. This is often why products don’t really help us too much. These medical grade products contain higher amounts of the same ingredients designed to work better and show a better result. You cannot simply go and pick up these products you would have to talk to a doctor first and get a prescription.

Products that contain higher amounts of ingredients obviously come along with some other stuff… like side effects. These may be things like irritation and being more susceptible to sun damage. However, not all of the brands sold at doctor’s offices have high levels of ingredients. You may be able to find those certain products there only because it costs less to go through an office.

Just because certain brands and products are sold at a doctor’s office doesn’t mean that they can guarantee results better than another brand. And a lot of the time, it’s just basic marketing strategies.

However, most of the time lines advertised in an office do come along with better results. The main difference in drugstore products and medical grade products are the levels of active ingredients and what they can do for you and your skin. And normally the brands you see in an office and more expensive, which means you’re paying for the results. If you don’t notice anything much different then you may think about sticking with drugstore brands.
